How did you feel when your first book was published? Very, very excited, proud and nervous.

How does your family feel about you being a writer? They are happy for me and I try to fit it in when they are at school or work or asleep or out of the house. Being around home, and a wife and a mum looking after them all, is still really important to me.

Favourite words: Community and serendipity.
